And it depends on both distance and relative speed. After being vaguely hinted, we now finally know exactly when the animated series Star Wars Resistance takes place in the franchise's timeline. This amazing boat trip not only allows you to take a closer look at. There’s every reason to believe that Rey’s storyline and Leia/Poe/Holdo’s storyline and Finn/Rose’s storyline don’t unfold at the same pace. Hes supremely confident, maybe to the point of hubris (did he plan to get thrown to the rancor?) In ROTJ its been a year passed, and Luke immediately starts the movie as a badass jedi. THREE! Our force user is more self-assured, less brash, more experienced and we get the feeling that hes still learning The implication is that she’s a Skywalker kid (Luke’s, most likely she didn’t seem to recognize Leia. In ESB the feeling of progress between 1 and 2 is palpable. The most obvious dangling thread from Force Awakens is the identity of Rey’s parents. (he still manages to use the force and save the day) In ANH our force user is brash, naive, and very much a newbie to the force and the galaxy at large. The OT was so brilliantly paced though, that its really a hard comparison for any trilogy let alone another star wars trilogy. Yeah this is one of my criticisms of the new movies as well.
